| Wrote... Shoot 22 Hornet in Thompson Contender with Bullberry custom arrel and Weaver T-36 scope. Find it accurate out to 300 yards very consistantly - even prefer it to my 222. Find Hornady 35 & 40 grain bullets and H110 powder coupled with CCI bench rest primers to be a very accurate combination. Half inch groups at 100 yards are common. Killing power on appropriate game is excellent. The Bullberry rifle barrel appears to have been the single greatest accuracy booster. I hope to buy/build a bolt action rifle in 22 Hornet or 22 K-Hornet. Would enjoy communicating with others re this caliber / weapon. Also seeking suggestions for best bolt action receiver for this caliber. Happy shooting to all. |

| Wrote... I'm reloading for my 300 Savage....again. This time will be for use as a back-up elk rifle for woods hunting. I'm starting with 39gr of 4064, with a 165gr Grand Slam, touched off with a Winchester large rifle primer. I've found that by sizing the neck to .305, you don't have to worry about any bullet movement until you light it up! |
